The Girls Varsity Bowling team went into Northway Lanes on January 3rd seeking their first tournament win of the season. After a slow start shooting 792 in game one, they responded in game two shooting 884 to take a good lead and then followed that up with 851 to lead the field going into the Baker matches. The four Baker games were up and down but they still managed to hold the top qualifying position shooting 3158 to lead by 144 pins. In round one of match play, they faced off against Grand Haven and after falling 3 pins short in game one, they responded in game two shooting 211 to win the semi-finals match 386-324 to advance to the finals. Ravenna, last years D4 team champion was waiting and after a slow start again in game one, they rebounded in game two to take the title winning 359-309. Three of the ladies took All Tournament honors with Sofia DeLuccia taking the top spot and Kristen Chapman and Alyx Niedermayer taking two of the other top spots. This was truly a team effort as Kyla Chapman, October Bishop and Catherine Hill all contributed to this great team win. Now it is off to the start of the conference season and a date on Monday with Zeeland at their place, Station 300, t begin defense of our conference title this season
