Big conference win for the Rams to end the regular season! The Lakers jumped out to a quick lead going up 3-0 despite the Rams getting off 9 shots without any results for their effort. Brooke Gordon was able to finally break the ice and get a goal for the Rams to close the gap just before the end of the first quarter. The Lakers continued to play tough and were able to extend their lead to 6-3 at halftime. The Rams would dominate the second half and hold the Lakers scoreless the rest of the way. The Rams would tally 4 goals in the 2nd half and hold on to win 7-6. Brooke Gordon had a great game and finished with 2 goals and an assist. More importantly she was able to win several ground balls and draw controls at critical moments in the game. Ava Wekenman continues to stay hot on the offensive end and she added two goals to her season stats. Kiah Kruisenga and Avery Maag also had big games as they both added a goal and an assist as well as some great defense. Sydney Meisling added a goal to finish out the scoring. The defense was outstanding in this game allowing Spring Lake only 12 shots in the entire game. Lyla Vogt, Payten Davis, Ella Termaat, Maddie Unger and Maddie Paul had an outstanding day on the defensive end. Goalie Mia Mabry didn't have many shots today but she made some really key saves at big moments which really helped turn the momentum in Rockford's favor! That ends the regular season and the Rams look forward to preparing for the first round of the tournament when they host the winner of Northview and Jenison on May 19 @ 6 PM.
