ROCKFORD ATHLETICS I HOME OF THE RAMS

The Men’s XC team raced to a Runner-Up finish out of 13 teams that competed in the Starlight Division at the Under the Lights Invitational hosted by GR South Christian. The Rams were powered by a race that saw the first 8 Rockford finishers race lifetime Personal Records (PRs). Seniors Josiah Derksen and Noah Watson led the way in placing 5th and 8th respectively in PR’s of 15:49.9 and 16:07.9. Junior Luke Bultman raced to a 9th place with a PR of 16:14.4. The final two Rams that contributed to the scoring were Senior Charlie Gavan in 26th and Freshman Gabe Miller in 39th PRing in times of 16:52.9 and 17:14.4 The top five Rams and the next four all medaled by virtue of racing top 50 finishes. Junior Rhy Schneider finished 41st with a PR time of 17:16.3, Sophomore James Hollebeek was 44th with a PR of 17.17.8, Senior Addison Dufendach in 46th with a PR of 17:23.8 and Sophomore Dylan McKinney in 49th. Other Rams that have been on the team for more than one season that raced Personal Records were Sean Bostwick (18:19.4), Evan Verwys (18:53.2), Dax Hune (19:00.2), Yannick Giedeman (19:31.0), Quinn Murphy (20:04.2), Daniel Stout (20:15.4), and Grayson Champagne (20:29.4). The next race for the Rams will be the OK RED Conference Jamboree #1 hosted at East Rockford Middle School on Tuesday, September 15th with racing starting at 4:30. Go Rams!
