ROCKFORD ATHLETICS I HOME OF THE RAMS

The JV field hockey team looked like a completely different team than the night before and played one of their best games of the year. The Rams scored early in the first quarter when Samantha Jennings made a beautiful hit which beat the EGR goalie to put the Rams up 1-0. The Rams continued the pressure but went into half with only a 1-0 lead. The Rams came out very strong in the 3rd quarter scoring twice to open a 3-goal lead. Jennings picked up her 2nd goal of the night on a very nice pass from Sadie Ferwerda. Ferwerda wasn't done sharing the ball. She then found Azalia Einfeld, who scored her first field hockey goal. The Rams played outstanding defense, not allowing EGR to get off a shot in the 2nd half. Leading the way on defense were Sammi Donehoo, Madi Mead, Ellie Glaesman and Maddie Dufon. The midfielders also had a strong game by consistently transitioning the ball into the offensive end. Emma Mayse, Avery Wright, Jessie Coyle and Ella Oldenburg had outstanding games.
