ROCKFORD ATHLETICS I HOME OF THE RAMS

The Rams played a gutsy game with Grosse Pointe North after having to play a 60-minute battle with Grosse Pointe South just an hour before in a very hot and humid day. The Rams controlled much of this game with the ball being possessed in their end of the field most of the game. GPN was ready to play and worked extremely hard and packed in the defensive end making it difficult for the Rams to score. The Rams would score a goal in each of the first 3 quarters and would put 18 of 24 shots on goal but would manage to only squeak 3 goals past the GPN goalie. Isabelle Schubert would strike first on an assist from Avery Maag to put the Rams up 1-0 in the first quarter. In the 2nd quarter Carolina Hernandez would put the Rams up 2-0 with a goal of her own. Then in the 3rd quarter Avery Maag would score a goal to go with her earlier assist to make it 3-0 Rams. Despite the low scoring, the Rams played a very solid game on both ends of the field. The Varsity team returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Forest Hills Central for a conference match up.
